Improved pagination experience when working with large Trails
We have released a small update to the pagination UI for the account / subject list displayed on a Paper Trail. This change improves the manual page input field experience when working with large Trails.
Document request template sorting
You can now sort your document request templates list alphabetically. This will make it easier to find the template you need when creating a new document request.
Risk Assessment questionnaire deep linking
When working with a risk assessment questionnaire, you can now deep link to a specific question. This will allow you to share a link to a specific question with your team.
QA dashboard extended range
The QA dashboard will now show up to 12 months of data. This will allow you to see a longer history of your QA performance.
As we move into the third year of working with some of our customers,
it’s inevitable that some users end up moving on from their roles.
Having them clearly marked as “suspended” on the Users page provides clarity to your teams as they work in Cable.
We’ve been so busy building features and products that our customers asked for that we didn’t focus on making them all easily available in a single place… until now!
Our new Cable App combines all of our products and features in one place, and provides a new, simple navigation system for ease of movement across your own institution and your partners.
The Cable App now supports SAML 2.0 as an authentication provider – allowing your team to sign into our web app using your existing identity management platform.
Updated Risk Assessment methodology
We’ve updated our Risk Assessment methodology to ensure it takes into account the latest regulatory guidance, national risk assessments and best practices.
The new methodology is available for download in the Cable App once you’ve completed your Risk Assessment.
Our previous flow for onboarding partners required you to send a Company Profile questionnaire, Documents list and Risk Assessment all at the same time.
As we’ve worked with our customers to understand their onboarding needs, we’ve extracted Company Profile from within this flow, and made it its own feature. You can now send the questionnaire at any time, to any partner, from its very own page.
Making onboarding as fast and slick as possible is an ongoing goal for us, and our new Sandbox environment enables us to get you going more quickly!
Now, when we receive data and start running checks for you, you’ll be able to see those checks in our Sandbox sooner, giving you the chance to provide feedback and move to “live” more quickly.
We have a new data integration option via webhook with Alloy, the identity decisioning platform.
For companies using Alloy, Cable can now seamlessly fetch data from Alloy that is necessary to run Cable’s effectiveness testing checks.
This enables Cable to pull real-time updates from Alloy every time an application undergoes a status change, as well as extract person and business attributes and evaluations from Alloy that are essential for conducting Cable checks.
We launched and announced our brand new product, Transaction Assurance, a first-of-its-kind solution for banks, fintechs, and crypto companies to eliminate costly gaps and errors from relying on manual sampling to test millions of transactions for financial crime regulatory compliance.
From transaction monitoring to suspicious activity reporting and Travel Rule requirements, Cable’s Transaction Assurance provides automated, real-time assurance that first-line controls are effective and regulatory requirements are met for 100% of transactions.
Our Financial Crime Risk Assessment is perfect, but what about the other areas of risk?
Now you can build your own Risk Assessments from scratch, with our new Risk Assessment Builder.
For any risk areas, such as information security or operational resilience, you can now document and update all your risk information in a single place.
Leverage customizable risk areas as well as pre-built risks and controls functionalities, similar to the capabilities offered in our Financial Crime Risk Assessment.
Documents
Ongoing partner management can be a pain, with back-and-forth emails and tracking in spreadsheets.
Now you can request, collect, and track documents for all of your partners in one workspace.
Streamline your team’s document collection workflows
Quickly communicate with partners or team members inside any request
Check the status of requests across your entire partner portfolio at any time
Actions
Setting and assigning actions is great, but managing due dates across multiple partners can be difficult. Our new Actions Scheduler allows you to see all actions that have been created and track what’s coming up next for all of your partners.
Create and track actions for your team members
Communicate easily with team members in any action and immediately address any overdue actions
Ensure seamless ongoing partner management and stay in control no matter how many partners you have
We’ve received our SOC2 Type II Certification, after receiving our SOC2 Type I Certification earlier this year.
This certification signifies that our data security controls and processes have undergone extensive testing over an extended period of time. It means that you can be confident that we handle your data with the utmost care and in compliance with top industry standards.
Achieving SOC2 Type II Certification is a testament to our ongoing commitment to securing your data and continuous investment in measures to provide you with a secure and reliable platform.
You can see all Actions that have been created in Cable on the new Beta Actions page.
Each Action has it’s own page, so you can edit, update, and communicate with your team about your Actions in a single dedicated page for all your workflow needs.
What can you do?
You can click an Action in a Paper Trail or the Actions Index page to see the related Action page
In the Action page, you can edit the Action name, description, status, due date, and owner, share updates with your team, and see the source Paper Trail for an Action
Tracking Key Risk Indicators is an important part of any compliance program, and doing so across your own institution is hard enough, let alone across any partners.
With our new Risk Ratings product, you can set up and track KRIs across any number of partners, and across any areas of compliance.
We’ve introduced a new Actions in Trails feature, enabling you to create, assign, and track actions directly from Paper Trails and QA Trails. This new feature lets you seamlessly turn your trail outcomes into actionable next steps.
What can you do?
You can create an action in a trail during or after your review
You can assign a team member as the owner of an action, set a due date, and track the status of the action
You can see all of your actions for a trail by filtering your trail updates
We know how key it is for your investigations and reviews to drive meaningful improvements. With the Actions in Trails feature, your team can now move smoothly from their work on trails to concrete actions.
We have launched the Account Comments feature in Paper Trails, one of your most requested features! You’ll now enjoy a more streamlined ability to track and log details about your investigations on an account-by-account level.
What can you do?
As you’re investigating an account in a trail, you can add a comment directly to the specific flagged account
You can tag a team member to review a specific account in the comments for the account
You no longer need to copy account IDs in the general comments section of a trail to reference a specific account, as you can now directly comment on accounts
How it works:
Adding comments in a Paper Trail
Click on an account row to expand and see the Add comment button. You can add multiple comments and tag team members. Comments cannot be edited or deleted after posting, so you can ensure all activity is logged.
Adding comments in a QA Trail
You will find the Add comment button below the QA questions. Comments will be displayed when you click on Show Details. You can add multiple comments and tag team members. Comments cannot be edited or deleted after posting, so you can ensure all activity is logged.
Viewing comments in a trail
Once a comment is added in a trail for a specific account, you will see the comment under the account as well as in the general comment section for the trail, along with the account ID. If you click the account ID in the general comment section, the trail page will filter directly to the specific account, so you can review the account-specific comments.
Refreshed Paper Trail Interface & Communication
To continue making our Paper Trails experience informative and intuitive for you, we’ve released a significant refresh of our Paper Trail interface, incorporating many elements from feedback you’ve given us!
In Paper Trails, you’ll now see more details on flagged accounts at one glance, have more interactive work space, and enjoy better communication. Some specific improvements to highlight include:
Interface uplift: We added several enhancements to Paper Trails to make them more user-friendly. Improvements to the layout and colors for Paper Trails let you see more information and also dig in with improved filtering options on updates, comments, and actions. We can also now surface multiple properties for accounts, such as multiple IDs.
Seamless parent-child communication: We’ve also streamlined parent-child communication in trails for users that are managing their partners in Cable. With these improvements, team members from both parent and child organizations can use Paper Trails to tag and communicate with each other, enabling you to directly collaborate with your partners on resolving trails!
We’ve introduced the ability for you to raise new types of “disproportionate representation” risks in Cable. This new risk type will surface accounts that have an attribute that is overrepresented in your off-boarded account population as compared to your active account population.
This update offers you new capabilities to detect areas for improving your compliance controls and helps you uncover better risk insights from your own data and risk decisions.
Risk Assessment Performance and UX Enhancements
If changes to your Risk Assessment are still being processed, you will now receive a notification about the changes in progress, so you can avoid accidental browser closure and loss of your work.
We also made the document upload interface in Cable’s Risk Assessment more user-friendly by clarifying that users can proceed by either uploading a file or providing an explanation for the absence of a file upload.
Cable’s Automated Assurance product is now fully integrated with Cable’s Risk Assessment. For the first time, by using both products, you now have the ability to ensure control effectiveness scores in your Risk Assessment are automatically updated and completely data-driven!
With Cable’s full suite of products, you can now:

We will keep your open Risk Assessment updated with current control effectiveness scores until you request approval of your Risk Assessment. Once your Risk Assessment is approved, your control effectiveness scores are recorded and the final document is stored in read-only mode for future reference.
In this release, we’ve added powerful new functionality in Cable’s Risk Assessment enabling you to provide useful context or information directly in your Risk Assessment, through our new Notes section. This new feature enables your team to collaboratively add, document, and track all relevant details in your Risk Assessment for review or audit.
For example, you can log critical notes about why you responded in a particular way to certain questions in the Risk Assessment questionnaire, record your rationale for changes to your risk ratings, or capture your thinking around control adequacy and effectiveness scores and any actions to take.
This feature also enables you to:
Add helpful context to your downloadable PDF version of your Risk Assessment for sharing with your stakeholders.
Carry over all context details to your subsequent risk assessments, so you can easily access information for future adjustments and enjoy a more consistent risk assessment process.
Our suite of products now fully supports bank-fintech relationship structures. This means your partner bank and fintech relationships will be completely reflected in Cable’s Risk Assessment and Automated Assurance products.
With this new feature, Cable offers a powerful, first-of-its-kind ability for users in parent organizations to see Automated Assurance results across all of their fintech partners. You can know immediately if any regulatory breach or control failure has occurred at any partner, and quickly move to resolve the issue.
This feature enables you to:
Seamlessly move between Cable’s Automated Assurance and Risk Assessment products

You can now use the Financial Crime Risk Assessment to automatically integrate your fintech programs’ risk assessments into your own risk assessment. This first-of-its kind automation enables you to gain advanced new risk insights and risk identification capabilities across all of your fintech programs.
With this feature, you can now:
See exactly how newly onboarded fintech programs will trigger new risks for you or affect your own risk assessment
Store an approved risk assessment, as well as an in-progress copy of your risk assessment
Make your risk assessment a living document, instead of a static document updated annually, which lets you adapt faster to changing risks and controls
In this release, we’ve added enhancements that let you quickly understand trends in the outcomes of your QA Trails, month over month, across each area of the financial crime framework.
After a QA Trail is closed, you now see statistics in the report of the results for each question asked. Transform these results in any way you want, add comments, or simply paste the results into a presentation and shine in front of your stakeholders.
With this feature, you can:
Get a full summary across all selected QA Trails on a month-by-month basis, in an easily editable document
Report QA review rate, sample criteria, testing score and all review outcomes
See testing score summaries across a selected timeframe
To continue making integration with Cable a smooth experience, we have introduced the ability to pull and analyze your financial crime onboarding data directly from Moody’s PassFort.
With this enhancement, if you use Moody’s PassFort, you won’t need to pass additional data from your system, as we can handle that for you!

We’ve also added another update to QA Trails, enabling you to quickly filter the list of accounts for those that had particular outcomes. This enhancement lets you dive deeper into any QA Trails with dynamic filtering to help you understand process outcomes.
This update to QA Trails gives you an automated summary when you close a Trail, making it easy to derive conclusions after you are done with your QA.

This feature enables you to:

QA Trails is a brand new tool for Cable customers! Let’s get you away from manual and time consuming quality assurance processes, out of spreadsheets, and into a single tool!
We know that certain types of testing will always require a human, but that doesn’t mean they have to be the painful, manual process they are today.
Quality assurance is a significant time cost for teams; not only the reviews themselves but also the operational aspects of selecting a sample and managing tracking and reporting. Cable automates and streamlines your QA process, from generating random samples for review, providing an easy way to answer the questions that matter, to summarizing the outcomes.
With this new feature, you can now:
Save time with our automated, random sample selection tool
Keep all QA findings and outcomes in one place
Easily spot and record themes in your QA findings
Assurance context about Accounts
We have improved the Assurance page, so you now see more context about the accounts contributing to any failed checks.
We’ll make it clear where more review is needed and where you’ve made a risk-based decision not to remediate, and you can now link directly to any related Paper Trails from the relevant Assurance rows.
These enhancements enable you to:
Easily access the relevant Paper Trail directly from the Assurance page
View a summary of the accounts contributing to a breach or failure
Our Assurance page got a major upgrade - we can now give you even more context about breaches and failures! You can expand any row to see in detail what actually went wrong, such as an IDV requirement that was not met due to expired documents.
This arms you with the knowledge to kick off your investigation and understand exactly what contributed to a breach or failure, looking only at the most relevant information.
We’ve updated the Paper Trails page so that each card now shows the number of accounts still awaiting review as well as the total number of accounts that have been affected.
This update enables you to prioritize and distribute work accordingly based on exactly how many accounts are still awaiting review for each Trail.
We’ve added a chart to each Trail so you can clearly see how many accounts have been affected by an issue and monitor your team’s progress as accounts are reviewed and decisions on remediation are made.
This enhancement enables you to:
Know at a glance how much risk you’ve taken on or mitigated for a given issue
Easily see how much work is still remaining or needs to be assigned
We’ve introduced a key update to the workflow element of a Paper Trail! You’re now able to update the status as you review each account associated with a Paper Trail, so you can easily keep track of which ones still need review or are already being worked on. You can also record your decisions regarding particular accounts - if no remediation is required, you can log it! If you’ve remediated the account, we’ll capture that as well.
This new feature enables you to:
Keep track of the decisions made regarding accounts surfaced in Paper Trails
Update account status as you review them, making it easier for you to prioritize and distribute investigations
API Update
We have made the integration experience better for our Paper Trails by upgrading our API with tools for your engineers to self-check if a data transfer is successful.
This enhancement enables you to:
Integrate faster and with higher confidence using our upgraded API tools, and take advantage of our customized onboarding plans for a smooth integration experience
One of the most frustrating parts of dealing with an issue is often the lack of context - has this happened before? Did we know this could happen? Were we ok with that risk or has something gone wrong? Usually the only option for Compliance Officers is to search through Jira, Slack, internal notes or people’s memories to learn more - and more often than not, you simply have to start from scratch.
…until now! When Cable surfaces a Trail, you can now see if the same issues occurred in the past, and immediately navigate to that Paper Trail to understand what actions were taken. We’ll also keep your open Trails up to date, so you’re always seeing the full list of impacted accounts in one place.
This new feature enables you to:
✨Easily track repeat issues, so you always understand the full scale of the problem and can prioritise strategic fixes
✨Save time by automatically getting historical context
✨Trails are always kept up to date, so you can see if new accounts are being identified in real time
This week we have introduced a brand-new Dashboard, which provides automated management information showing your overall financial crime risk, perfect for sharing with senior stakeholders or wide teams.
You can now understand, at a glance:
Operational snapshot: how many New Paper Trails have been surfaced, how many your team are still working on, how long it typically takes them to resolve them
How much unexpected financial crime risk you’re carrying over time which tracks unresolved breaches and failures from the moment the issue occurred
How much risk you’ve willingly accepted over time so you can see how this grows/changes and understand which areas of the fincrime framework are the most impacted
This week we have released Reports, which has been one of the most requested features from Compliance Officers! You can now generate downloadable, editable, reports containing details from any Paper Trails, saving you copious hours searching around for what happened and when.
This new feature enables you to:
Select specific Trails to include in a report, which you can name and download as an editable docx file
View and download all previous reports on the Reports page
Showcase your team’s work for stakeholders in easily shareable reports that take just minutes to produce
We’ve also added a toggle where you can view closed Paper Trails on the same page as the live ones. As a result, we’ve changed the name of the “Dashboard” page to “Paper Trails” and deprecated the previous list view.
This week we are really excited to release our Assurance Page, which we think is the first of its kind - we can’t wait to get your feedback about it! The Assurance Page provides a real time mapping of your regulatory requirements to your financial crime controls, enabling you to have 100% assurance that your controls are working, 100% of the time. Sound good? We thought so!
This page enables you to:
See a real time mapping of your controls to the regulatory requirements
Have 100% assurance that your controls are working, 100% of the time
Know what specific regulatory requirements and controls Cable is checking and if they’re working as expected
See what Cable could be testing but is currently missing data for
In this release, we’ve added a Settings Page, so you can see who from your organization is using Cable, reset your password, and log out. We hope you don’t log out, but if you need to, it’s now possible to do so from a beautiful page dedicated to settings!
In this release, we’ve added a Notifications Center. This makes it easier to view all your notifications at once, rather than relying on checking each individual email. It will also make it easier to see when new things need your attention while you’re working in the in app!
In this release, we’ve added the ability to document the outcomes of an issue when you close a Paper Trail, which improves your visibility around the decision made and the current status of any remediation efforts.
This update enables you to:
Document whether you are risk accepting an issue or whether it’s been fully resolved
Differentiate between remediation of accounts and a solution to the root cause
Add a comment when closing a Trail
You can also now reopen a Paper Trail, which will enable you to resume all normal actions (e.g., reassigning or commenting) and allow you to provide a new outcome when closing the Trail.
In this release, we moved individual Paper Trails from the accordion on the Paper Trail page to their own dedicated page. This change will make the Paper Trails page feel more spacious and enable you to have more context on each Paper Trail as you work it.
This update provides you the following enhancements:
